The Power Solar Home Lighting Systems is a prepackaged control unit designed for rural home electrification. Just adds batteries and modules for a complete solar home system that replaces dry cell batteries, kerosene and candles with safe, dependable solar energy. These systems supply electricity for lighting, entertainment and information to homes that are not connected to utility power grids. The Thoshiba Home Lighting Systems includes electronic system safeguards and provides years of reliable service and convenience.


The basic Thoshiba Home Lighting Systems is designed to provide power for DC fluorescent lights and a small television or radio. A controller monitors battery charging to avoid under or over charging the battery and an LED light displays how much charge is in the battery. The AC model includes an internally mounted inverter that changes DC electricity to AC electricity. The Thoshiba Home Lighting Systems never needs fuel, is absolutely silent and requires little maintenance. Complete systems including modules and batteries are available. DC fluorescent lights/LED Lamps are also available as well as other accessories.

Thoshiba Power Station are mounted on weather-proof steel structures. Custom configurations for specific voltage or power requirements are available for a reliable power source in any remote application. An optional trailer mount is available. The Thoshiba Power Station consists of a PV array which generates DC electricity from sunlight, a battery bank to store the DC energy and an inverter to convert from DC to utility-grade AC electricity. Several factors must be considered when choosing between a hybrid or stand-alone configuration. Hybrid stations are sized to provide 25-75% of the load requirements by the engine generator, resulting in a lower first-cost for a given load. Stand-alone PV systems are sized to provide 100% of the load and offer very low operating and maintenance costs.
